My entire life I have always been what people call an animal person. In particular, a dog person. I like my dogs to be with me wherever I go. Out of town trips were often a challenge because I didn't feel comfortable bringing my dogs to a kennel. I just wasn't sure that the care offered was up to my dogs' standards and I know that many of us feel this way. Dogs are very much part of our families and we want them to be happy and comfortable. Unfortunately though, the dogs live in a people's world and things come up that they just can't be a part of, so there is a need for boarding. I kept thinking that I should open a "kennel" and how different it would be; trained supervision over interactive play with cozy places to rest--catering to the dog's happiness rather than just their basic needs. How it would be a place where people like me would feel comfortable leaving their dogs, and the dogs would be happy to stay there.
Tucker's Dog House is that kind of place. It's not a kennel, but a big doghouse tucked away in the mountains of Western Maine. At Tucker's Dog House, we take the time to get to know each dog, allowing us to provide the best individual care; assuring a great stay. Wether it be going for group or leashed walks in the woods, snowshoeing, snuggling and playing, or watching them just be dogs...I love the fact that I get to spend my days enjoying the company of my 4-legged friends while providing a much needed service to both people and their pets.
